Happy Chinese New Year!

This is Katy, from Mrs. Mavro's Class. She came to tell us all about Chinese New Year. She also showed us some of their traditional outfits. Thank you, Katy!

Happy Mrs. K Day!

We had a great time celebrating Mrs. Kastrounis at Round Up this morning! Mrs. K was showered with words of encouragement and little chants from each grade level. She loved it so much, she teared up. We are so proud of her and will miss her so much!

Groundhog's Day!

Today we learned all about Groundhog's day and Punxsutawney Phil! We used a new kid friendly and kid safe website that lets children search just like Google. It was a great way to foster the a desire to discover things independently.
I have pasted the link below if you would like to use this website at home.

Testing the Penguin Theory...

Well, we had to try it!
Our Experiment/Hypothesis:
"Can we stay warm if we huddle together like penguins?"

Our conclusion:
Humans, especially kindergarteners cannot stay worm like penguins. :)

Monday Fun!

Kicking off our winter week!
We began our morning by brainstorming things we see in winter. We then used our circle map to create a winter object out of winter words! We used the website, Tagxedo to do so! You should check it out at home! It is very fun and inspires some word work practice!
