Mirror, Mirror on the wall...

We are the fairest of the all!

At art, we took a long look at ourselves and tried our best to make our drawings look just like us!

Ms. Meador did an AMAZING job as Snow White! She played the part so well!

Today we discovered, "Snow White" possess every Fairy Tale story element!
  • Once upon a time
  • Good Characters
  •  Evil Characters
  • Royalty
  • Poverty
  • Magig
  • Numbers
  •  Happily ever after

To Become a Golden Carriage...

Today we had a beautiful mystery reader! She read to us virtually using the smartboard and an online book. If your child would like to  read the book at home tonight and learn about the parts of story he or she can at:

At the end of her story she gave each child a piece of cheese. See if you child can remember why...

During Daily 5 today we worked on writing about what we would do if we had our very own fairy godmother...

Today's Fairy Tale Mystery Reader...

Mr. Gonzales, our school officer! He did an awesome job reading "Jack in the Beanstalk"!
We learned that "Jack and The Beanstalk" has more story elements than the other two fairy tales we have read!

"What someone left us Magic Beans? Maybe it was Jack! We have to plant them!"

At art we made our very own Jack and the Beanstalk:

Guess who?

If you said, " Three Billy Goats Gruff", then you were right!
This is nun other than our secretaries, Mrs. Suzanne and Mrs. Jacque!
They did such an amazing job!
We had some excited learners listening intently to the goat and the troll.
After we listen to the story we decided, "What story elements are in this story?"

Not only have we been learning story elements everyday we have also been learning parts of a story:

At art we created our own billy goats

Let the Fairy Tale FUN Begin!

This morning marked the beginning of extensive study on fairy tales and story elements. For the next two weeks we will be hearing a mystery reader from around CCE read some of  our favorite stories. Today, we heard one of the three little pigs read! We then discussed what story elements The Three Little Pigs belong to.

At the art table we created our own houses. We used our imagination along with our creativity skills to design a house from whatever we could think of.  As you can imagine, there were houses made of a little bit of everything.
